Privacy Policy

This site belongs to Costa Rica Livin’ Realty SA, Pueblito Norte, Calle La Chorrera, Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This page explains what we learn about you when you visit it or get in touch, and what we do with it. For any question about it, write to info@crlivin.com.

The short version: we keep what you send us so we can answer you and help you buy, we note how you found us so we know which of our posts work, and we use Google Analytics to see which pages people read. We do not sell any of it, and we do not use it for advertising.

When you send us a message

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, optionally a phone or WhatsApp number, and your message. With it we receive the property you were asking about, if you came from a listing, the page you sent it from, and how you found our site (see below).

It goes to our own customer records system, where our team reads it and replies. We keep it as the record of our conversation with you, because buying property here often takes months and we need to remember what you asked for. Only our team can see it.

How you found us

When you arrive from a link — one of our posts on Instagram or Facebook, a Google search, another website — your browser keeps a short note of it on your own device for 90 days: the site that linked to you, the tags on our link (such as which post it was), the page you landed on, and when. It keeps the first visit and the most recent one.

That note stays in your browser. It reaches us only if you send us a message, with the form or on WhatsApp. Our WhatsApp links start your message for you and end it with a short reference such as “(ref IG)”; you see the whole message before you send it and can delete any of it. When a link from Facebook or Google carries a click identifier, we note only that it was there, never the identifier itself.

To remove the note, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings.

Messages on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram

If you write to us on WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram, the message reaches us through that service, and its own privacy policy applies to what it does with it. Messages to our Facebook Page are copied into our customer records so the team sees every enquiry in one place.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It uses cookies and collects the pages you view, roughly where you are, and the kind of device and browser you use. Google processes this for us under its own terms. You can block it with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or your browser’s privacy settings; the site works the same without it.

Who else handles it

Like any website, ours relies on a few companies to run: Vercel hosts the site, Supabase stores our records and our listing photographs, and some listing photographs load from RE/MAX’s image servers. Each of them sees the ordinary details of a web request, such as your IP address, when your browser asks for a page or a picture.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where you have asked us to — introducing you to an attorney or an inspector, for example — or where the law requires it.

Your rights

Costa Rica’s data protection law (Ley N.º 8968) gives you the right to know what we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to ask us to stop using it. Write to info@crlivin.com and we will reply as soon as we can.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
