The government and economy are also very stable in Costa Rica, and generally speaking, the country is extremely safe. In fact, Costa Rica abolished its army back in 1950 and is the only country in Latin America to be considered one of the most stable democracies in the world.

And finally, the locals, or Ticos, are some of the warmest and most hospitable people on the planet. They truly love their country and welcome tourists and expats to come and love it as well.

We can speak from experience when we say to be welcomed to a foreign country to such an extent is priceless. Without question we feel like we are living the second half of our lives in our second home.
